Viewing Chinese CharactersThe Taiwan Yearbook has Chinese characters interspersed with the English text as an added benefit for those able to read Chinese. However, if you're using a non-Chinese operating system to view the Taiwan Yearbook 2006, the Chinese characters may appear as either gibberish or a bunch of small squares. To view instructions on how to properly view Chinese, please click on your operating system: Microsoft Windows Vista, Microsoft Windows XP, or Microsoft Windows 2000/ME/98/95. Microsoft Windows Vista: Vista supports viewing Chinese natively. You should be able to view Chinese without having to install anything.

After installing support for Traditional Chinese, your Web browser will in most cases automatically display the correct Chinese language characters in the Taiwan Yearbook 2006. If the characters do not display correctly, then: For Internet Explorer 6.0: • On the View menu, click "Encoding," and then click "Auto-Select." • Click the "Refresh" button. For Firefox 2.0: • On the View menu, click "Character Encoding." Then click "Auto-Detect." • Under Auto-Detect, select "Traditional Chinese." • Click the "Reload current page" button. |
